Hi all,
I've got an idea for fanfic, but I'm terrible at getting things ACTUALLY written. However, I love to edit the sh!+ outta things. So, I was thinking, what if I took one of these random harlequin romance books I get in all the time at work, steal the smex scene, change the character names, and then edit the nyar outta it until it's barely recognizable?

Would that be considered plagiarism? What if I said I did it and actually scanned in the pages I stole from (and linked to the book)? Would that still make it extremely uncouth? Would you read the fic, or would you avoid it and why?

First of all, my friend kaz26 wrote me an AWESOME lil TMNT ficlet for a Xmas present: See it's shinyness? Yay! It's imageverse, and made of AWESOME :D (altho I might be biased since I'm kinda an image fangirl)

Secondly, I am WORKING on my fanfic xmas gifts to others. *beam* got one that's ALMOST complete, but Don's inner monologue has got me a little stuck. Blech. Oh well, I'm just happy to be writing again :D

Thirdly, my paid LJ account expired about a week ago (it was a year membership that my sweety-pumpkin soliloquy bought for me in 2008 for xmas). I am SERIOUSLY considering renewing the account. I don't mind the ads TOO much (although they are VERY annoying) but the lack of email notifications is bothering me. So is not being able to edit my comments. :p I also miss my notes. :{ I like to be able to mouse over someone and know where I know them from! With the coupon Jenn sent me it would only be $9.95 for the year... what do ya'll think, should I renew? EDIT: WOW!! kaz26 is AWESOME! She gave me a gift of 2 months of paid LJ for free!! :D that makes me happiness. I really mean it, Thank you kazzy! It helps a LOT having that little money worry no longer on my mind! :D

Fourthly, my mouse at work is DUMB. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't. *grumbles* I wants an optical mouse! *grumbles some more*

Finally, I am finishing up making the turtles forever DVD. It took a little finagling but I think I got it. Blech. stupid AVI format. I beat you with stick.

Ok, a little clarification to this post yesterday. Bandanas is an OKAY descriptor for what the turtles wear (tho it makes me think of more of a du-rag type thing.) but eyemask is just SUCH a better word for it! :P

THESE are annoying descriptors in my book:
1. Headbands (Brings to mind a valley girl turtle, complete with 80s bangs.. ack! scary!)
2. Kerchiefs (Little old Lady Mutant Ninja Turtles?)
3. Scarfs! (Thanks, moronqueen I forgot this one!)

Also, these are only acceptable VERY sparingly (or if the story is from a POV of someone who doesn't know the turtles' names yet)
a. {color}-banded
b. {color}-wearing
c. {color}-loving
d. {color}-clad

If you want to use bandana, that is your prerogative, and it is acceptable. I just prefer eyemask because it paints a better picture in my mind.

PS. Please call them mask tails or bandana tails. I don't remember what scary descriptor word I saw the other day, but it made mica very sad. Now I rememeber what it was! Someone called them TASSELS! ARGH! NINJA TURTLES ARE NOT SHRINERS!!
