Hi all,
I am back from my trip to Utah. I am overwhelmed with stuffs to do, so if you have an LJ entry that you posted between Friday April 17th and Tuesday April 27th that you want me to read, PLEASE TELL ME!! (either via comment here or email or PM) I will not be catching up with my f-list, but I will keep up from today on. If you have an LJ entry where I am mentioned/tagged/etc please tell me and I'll read it. (Even if it's a meme, I like to see stuff about me, because like most humans, I'm ego-centric ;)

Here's about my trip:

We went to dave and busters in Omaha, and it was AWESOMESAUCE! :D I got 3 TMNT balls from a crane machine (I am terrible at those games, but I asked the guy working there very nicely and he was nice enough to open it up and give them to me :D Yayness!)

We stayed at a Holiday Inn express in Omaha Friday night and the fire alarm went off at 1 in the morning, and the fire trucks showed up! Apparently the elevator overheated ([livejournal.com profile] soliloquy{Jenn} and I made sure to use the stairs instead the next day... scary!)

On Saturday we started out early, but the Caprice had different plans I guess. Jenn covers it pretty well in her entry here

But we got to the holiday Inn in Cheyenne, WY around 11PM Saturday night. With an empty U-haul truck pulling the Caprice along behind us. We stayed on the 6th floor (I think) in that holiday inn, I am so glad we didn't have to use the stairs there! The breakfast buffet there was awesome. It was an actual restaurant and the food was plentiful and yummy. There was a family with kids sitting at a table nearby, and I was happy that the kids were impeccably behaved, so I stopped before I left and thanked and complimented the parents. (As I am wont to do on occasion)

On Sunday, the drive through Wyoming was VERY boring. I may be wrong, but I think Wyoming is the state that has the least amount of people per square mile. It is very desolate, I am VERY glad we didn't have our car problems there, we'd have been dead in the water.

We stopped at some little tiny dirt-ball of a town called Rawlins, WY. Nothing was open and the place just seemed to be filthy. We ate at the taco johns there, since it was the only thing besides a McDonalds that was open. They had this truck with GIANT wheels and a tiny body on a big chassis. (I'll have to post pics of it after Jenn uploads her pics of the trip)

When we got into Utah, we got into mountainous country. I learned what it's like to drive a truck through hilly terrain. I was putting the pedal all the way down, and I was only getting up to 55 mph going up the hills. Yikes. :p

We got to Jenn's parent's house in Sandy, UT at about 8 or 9 I think on Sunday night. I am so glad we came in on a sunday night so there wasn't much traffic to negotiate with the Uhaul and trailer.

On Monday, we did a little shopping. We went to Hot Topic there, and both Jenn and I got a TMNT teeshirt we affectionately call "the crotch shot shirt" It says "Don't make me go all ninja on you" and it has crotch/weapon shots of all the guys! :D It isn't at hottopic.com for some reason, so maybe I'll take a picture of it. :) We also got some cool shirts out of the massive clearance rack they had there, and Jenn got a Death Note shirt :D

On Tuesday, we went to the planetarium. It was disappointing. :p But they did have cuddleable microbes in their gift shop, which was awesome. Sadly, they were pretty picked over, so we didn't get one. I wish they would have had asbestos microbe, that would have been awesome. :D

On Wednesday, Jenn's Mom, Jenn, Tabatha, and Tabatha's fiance, Steve, went up to park city, but the steakhouse we wanted to go for lunch to was closed for remodeling, so the group wandered around seemingly aimlessly trying to decide where to eat. I could feel Jenn's frustration growing as she grew hungrier and we continued walking around undecided on a place to eat. This, along with my own gnawing hunger, annoyed me greatly. I know I did a bossy move, and Tabatha and Steve probably thought I was a complete bitch, but I finally just stopped at a sports bar and sat down and started to order. Jenn's mom got very grumpy and pouty about it, but I was just sick of no plans, and I confronted her and told her to get out the phone book and find some other place if she was so against bar food. She wouldn't do it, so we just ate there. I don't know how I could of/would have handled it differently now. The only thing I could have done differently was to plan that part of the trip myself, but I foolishly thought that Jenn's mom had it all planned. *sigh* argh. In-laws. :p

After the lunch incident, we went our separate ways shopping. Everything in park city was grossly overpriced, but Jenn got a beautiful flowing green dress at the "new age" store. :)

That evening, we returned the Uhaul, and we had cake that night for Jenn & her sister tabatha's birthday.

On Thursday, (I think it was) Jenn woke up with a pink eye again. We went and ate lunch at a nice chinese restaurant, and then went to an appointment at the Wal-mart optical center. The guy there said some stuff I don't remember (but i had him write down) and said she needed to see a better eye doctor and may have to have surgery, but in the meantime, he gave us a Rx for some steroid eye drops to take the red away. Jenn will have to go when she gets insurance sometime next month. Has anyone here ever had eye surgery? Does it hurt?

On Friday and Saturday, we just hung out at Jenn's parents house. It was very relaxing, but would have been more fun if I had had internets. :p

On Sunday, we flew from Salt Lake City to Omaha. It was a very turbulent plane ride, and Jenn had a screwdriver on the flight (and a mike's hard berry at the denver airport) so she was very relaxed, but it's true what they say about vodka. It does set your mouth in gear. My girlfriend Jenni is such an adorable drunk. She just babbles on and on. It's adorable. ;D

My mom met me in Omaha with my car and we ate at Spaghetti Works there before I drove home. I liked being able to drive the mikey-mobile again. :) It was soothing.

I am glad to be home.
